Initiative Against Online Rumors and Cyberbullying
Respected Citizens,
With the popularization and development of the Internet, the network has become an indispensable part of our lives. However, cyberspace is not a lawless zone. The spread of online rumors and cyberbullying seriously disrupts public order, harms the legitimate rights and interests of citizens, and endangers national security and social stability. Cyberspace is our common spiritual home, and maintaining Internet order and purifying cyberspace is our shared responsibility. In order to combat online rumors and cyberbullying and create a healthy and civilized online environment, the Jiaozhou Public Security Bureau's Cyber Police Detachment hereby issues the following appeal to the general public:
1. Strengthen legal awareness and strictly abide by the order of online dissemination. The Internet is not a lawless zone. Strictly abide by laws, regulations, social morality, and ethics. Do not create, believe, or spread any online rumors or cyberbullying. Do not spread rumors or incite trouble. Do not casually forward or comment on online reports without source or evidence, privacy leaks, personal attacks, or other negative remarks. Consciously resist online rumors, cyberbullying, and other harmful information.
2. Strengthen awareness of online civilization and jointly build a civilized online environment. Establish a correct understanding of online order and security, clearly distinguish right from wrong online, use polite online language, and do not maliciously slander or insult others online. Be a messenger of online civilization, and jointly build a positive, healthy, civilized, and harmonious online environment.
3. Enhance self-protection awareness and maintain cybersecurity. Strengthen self-protection awareness, do not arbitrarily disclose personal information, and protect personal privacy security. Learn about online information through authoritative official platforms, do not create, believe, or spread rumors, do not spread unverified information, consciously resist online rumors and cyberbullying, and improve the ability to identify illegal and harmful online information.
4. Exercise the power of social supervision and actively report online rumors. Actively resist online rumors and cyberbullying and other bad online behaviors. If you find suspected online rumors or cyberbullying, actively report them to relevant platforms and public security departments, and work together to curb the growth of online rumors and the spread of cyberbullying.
The Internet is not a lawless place. China's Criminal Law, Public Security Administration Punishment Law, Cybersecurity Law, and other laws and regulations have made specific provisions on cracking down on illegal and criminal acts such as spreading online rumors and cyberbullying. Violators will bear corresponding civil, administrative, and criminal liabilities. The public security organs will severely crack down on the behavior of fabricating, spreading, and disseminating online rumors and cyberbullying. We urge all netizens to know and abide by the law, do not create, believe, or spread rumors, use the Internet civilly, and speak rationally.
Let us take positive actions together, work together to promote online civilization, advocate for cybersecurity, resist online rumors and cyberbullying, and jointly maintain a healthy and orderly online environment and social order.
